Kashmir has been an emotive issue in India and in the subcontinent for decades. Violence and unrest have marred the pristine beauty there. We all had heard stories about ethnic strife between the local majority community and the minority community, genocide of Kashmiri Pandits, local politics, interference by our neighbour, etc.
Recent movie The Kashmir Files has triggered a reliving of the seldom talked about atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits and the decades of suffering hoisted upon them as refugees in their own country. The movie has created a literal tsunami of emotions and fervour among crores of Indians across regions, caste, religion, languages, ethnicity that something has to be done to right a historical wrong.
How to take this nationwide fervour to individual actions?
Kashmiri Hindus were wronged. We must do something, Better late than never. Sounds right. But what? How? When?
This webinar will bring out some valuable insights into this pertinent topic.
- What is the current situation in Kashmir? How is repeal of article 370 helping rebuild Kashmir?
- How can I as an individual make a difference to this effort of resettling Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir?
- Is expressing our opinion on the social media necessary? Enough? How to go beyond?
- How do I influence any govt policy in this regard?
- Will contributing funds help? How? Where?
- What if I want to volunteer to spend time, skills, knowledge and effort?
- What are governmental, non-governmental and not-for-profit opportunities?
- What can I do in my own city/state?
- What if I am ready to go to Kashmir and work on the ground?
